Join us at 612 Brew for our 2nd Beerocracy party – our monthly #BeerBandsBallots series featuring SILVERBACK COLONY!
Date: Weds. August 3rd, 2016
Venue: 612 Brew, 945 Broadway St. NE, Minneapolis, MN 55413
Silverback Colony is a rock band for the masses, a collective built on community and twang. The official line-up for the 8/3 Beerocracy will be Gabriel Douglas (The 4onthefloor), Matty 'B' Brandes (RL GD PPL), Nick Costa ( The Person & The People), Steven Yasgar (Communist Daughter), and Jake Ilika (The Heavy Set). Talk about a #supergroup!
Based up on the novel Congo, a band was derived from the character originally to be portrayed by David Hasselhoff. When the Hoff (as he shall be mentioned in the rest of the bio) was unable to do the theatrical release of the movie based upon the book, the band started. It was in an Irish pub, and used the American dialects and melodies to cultivate the songs and lore of the final generals of the final silverback colonization. Old generals gather around the hearth, give affirming nods, stroke beards, tip glasses, and then unleash the holy hymns they've produced in the face of death. Silver, Back. #SbCol

His real name is Nicholas Dircz, but most people know him as the one and only DJ Mad Mardigan - The Official DJ of The Minnesota Timberwolves & Lynx.
Mad Mardigan is a movie reference to the film "Willow" starring Val Kilmer as the greatest swordsman that ever lived. Even though DJ Mad Mardigan doesn't even own a sword, he DOES have a bachelor degree in Mass Communication from Winona State University, is an honorary Eagle Scout, a passionate lover of 90s Hip-Hop, and a #DJDad... So that's cool.
Mad Mardigan is dominating the DJ scene by playing many exclusive gigs throughout the Twin Cities, the Midwest and beyond. Here at home in Minneapolis, he splits his time between: operating GenerationNOW Entertainment, DJing for The Minnesota Timberwolves & Lynx, producing remixes/edits, bringing his brand of turntablism to some of the Twin Cities' hottest nightclubs, and being a #DJDad. He has performed at virtually every venue in town including: The Target Center, Target Field, TCF Bank Stadium, The State Theatre, Varsity Theatre, SEVEN Ultralounge, The W Hotel, The Pourhouse, The Imperial Room... and the historic First Ave. Nightclub. He also performs at numerous weddings, corporate events, school dances, charity galas, and other private parties via GenerationNOW.
